Howie Mandel is taking some extreme precautions to prevent the spread of coronavirus. According to TMZ, he showed up to an AGT taping on Tuesday wearing a hazmat suit and a gas mask.

The paparazzi snapped photos of the judge, who was also wearing rubber gloves up to his elbows. We wonder if he wore that get-up while judging on the show. It might be hard for contestants to hear him.

Howie Mandel Fights Off Coronavirus

Howie is a notorious germaphobe, opting to fist-bump people instead of shaking hands. He’s recently joked on social media about the extreme precautions he’s taking to avoid catching coronavirus.

The judge joked that he was being wheeled into work on a bubble stretcher. He also showed off his helmet and toilet paper roll as preparation. We’re not sure what those are going to do, but better to be safe than sorry.

The comedian also said in a recent interview that he’s stopped inhaling. (We wouldn’t recommend trying that one at home.) Funnily enough, singer Weird Al Yankovic recently tweeted, “We are all Howie Mandel now.”

Fellow judge Simon Cowell has also been worried about coronavirus and said he’s worn masks on the train. We wonder if he’s used any of Howie’s tips.

TV Shows Film Without Audiences Due To Coronavirus

Howie’s hazmat suit isn’t the only precaution being taken in the world of television. Several shows which usually film in front of a studio audience have decided to go audience-free for the time being.

This includes game shows like Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!, as well as morning shows Good Morning America and The View. With AGT auditions currently filming, we have to wonder if the show will take the same approach.

We can’t really imagine watching AGT without the audience, as the crowd offers so much positive energy during the performances. But as the outbreak continues, things might have to change to protect people’s health.
